Kickstarter & Indiegogo UPDATE 007 // Frustration

Hello Kickstarter & Indiegogo Backers!

I hope everyone is well and November is off to a good start :)

The title of this update is frustration and since starting this project I have always stuck to the mantra you can only be frustrated if you are making no progress’... and we are making progress so I can't say it's frustrating!

That being said we have had to take more than a few steps backwards to move forward. In fact we had to go all the way back to the beginning to find the route of our problems. Over the last month the design team at People & Things along with the manufacturer and a third party specialist in China have gone through every step of the mould making to diagnose the problem. It turns out, believe it or not, the very first cut into the giant chunks of metal were not properly zeroed. For those of you who aren’t familiar with this term, it refers to the coordinates of where points should meet perfectly… in our case, they were out by 0.25mm! An honest mistake that has sent us down the rabbit-hole and back to put it politely. This meant that the correct zeroed parts were misaligned and the story of why these weren’t matching up, when the 3D drawings were telling us they should, was starting to unfold.

Holy heck that is frustrating, but what now?
Since discovering the core issue, the team has worked hard to re-machine the parts and we will have a test run this coming Friday. Fingers crossed this solves the problem and we can start to move forward with texturing the moulds, signing off final production samples and then of course MASS MANUFACTURING!

We all get frustrated :)
I would like to acknowledge how frustrating this is for you as the customer. I definitely don’t take it lightly that you’ve invested your hard earned $$ into an idea that hasn’t yet been fulfilled! You might have even had to purchase less than satisfactory brushes in the meantime and for this I am beyond sorry.

With this in mind, several customers have asked for a refund and I am more than happy to facilitate this through Kickstarter if you wish. Comically, there have also been a few enquiries as to whether this whole project is a scam! Although these comments suck (for lack of a better word), you do have to see the funny side because I seriously wouldn’t even know where to start with conducting a scam via Kickstarter… it’s simply just not in me! I can assure you that it’s absolutely 100% legit, this has been my life for 3 years and my team and I are working as hard as we can to deliver this product in a timely manner.

How many samples does it take to design a product!? The answer... Don't ask :)

It has also been noted that my singular focus and determination may be causing me to loose it a little...

If you are willing to hang in there a little longer (just keep running together), and I REALLY hope you are, I’m confident things will start taking shape and we’ll be in a good spot by the end of November. I really can’t wait for the day I get to say production is underway and even more so when your ONE BRUSH is on its way!!!

Many thanks for your continued support and patience… until the next update.
